The John Wayne Pioneer Trail follows the former railway roadbed of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad (Milwaukee Road ) from Idaho to Rattlesnake Lake, about 20 miles from Seattle. The route of my walk will follow the Milwaukee Road wherever possible, and completes the journey on trails and streets into Seattle.
